The total number of decentralized applications on Polygon, the Ethereum-scaling platform, has topped the 37,000 mark showing a rise of 400% since the start of 2022.

The team at Polygon recently shared figures via a blog post that was sourced from its partner Alchemy, a Web3 development platform, noting that the number represents a cumulative number of applications to be ever launched on mainnet and testnet.

Moreover, the number of monthly active teams, which is used to measure developer activity on a blockchain network, has reached 11,8000, which shows a whopping rise of 47.5% from March. The team also highlighted a breakdown of dApp projects that showed that “74% of teams integrated exclusively on Polygon, while 26% deployed on both Polygon and Ethereum.”

Polygon EVM Compatible PoS Blockchain

Polygon’s EVEM Compatible Proof of Stake blockchain has hosted dApps of several prominent projects and brands in the ecosystem, such as NFT marketplace OpenSea, Decentraland, The Sandbox, and DeFi lending platforms Aave, Animoca Brands and more!

The blog post mentioned that Polygon has over

“142 million unique user addresses and $5 billion in assets secured with around 1.6 billion transactions processed on the network to date.”

Ryan Wyatt, the CEO of Polygon, also said he is pleased with the growth and said, “we’re having a quiet year at Polygon”!

Earlier this year, Polygon also cited its partnership with Alchemy as a key driver behind the surging number of dApps that are being built on the network, as the Web3 platform’s infrastructure makes it easier for developers to build dApps.

“Polygon’s partnership with Alchemy in June 2021 proved to be an adoption catalyst, sending the number of dApps running on the network to 3,000 in October, 7,000 in January, and over 19,000 as of April,”

Polygon is making constant progress, and the sheer number of dApps being developed shows that the future of crypto remains bright!
